Ho HumWith every tick of the second hand Of the clock on the wall His mind turned once His heart skipped a beat With an audible gasp of effortHo Hum
His hands chained to the desk With steel links of cobwebs born of disuse
The walls bleed blatant sterility And the desk is littered With polysterene remnants Of the outside world
Teetering piles of texts With mildewed pages and rippled edges Loom over him, threatening to crush him
